Well, I just found out that my laptop came with a copy of Power Director pre-installed. It is a video editing software that I can use for my gaming videos. I've been trying to find a good video editing software, and this one was on my laptop this entire time.

That solves one problem, at least. Now I just need to find the right equipment for the face-cam capturing and voice recording. Any recommendations on what mics and cameras I should get for my setup?

Camera I haven't really looked it up yet. In terms of mic, the famous one that is really reviewed as a quality mic is the Blue Yeti. Although i think it is expensive, it is still worth it. I bought the blue snowball though because of budget issues and hopefully it will be a good mic for me. :)))
And oh yeah, be sure to get a pop filter that is suitable and fits correctly for your mic

I'm still making cents out of youtube so yeah, use what I can afford and make the most out of it. Saving up money is the hard part though, especially when you are still a student.

yeah , I know what you mean :) takes a while but you will get there :)

I work part-time at Taco Bell and go to college at the same time, so I don't have much money. A Yeti is about one paycheck for me, so I think I'll save up for one of those. But for the camera, I was thinking about more of an actual camcorder than a webcam. I use a laptop to record my gameplay, so recording that and recording the facecam could take a toll on my processor power. Whereas I could record the facecam with a camcorder and then import the video file into my video editor.

Audacity and any half-decent headphones with a mic should do if you edit the audio correctly.

As for facecam... A cell phone should do the trick. You just need a little tripod for it and a rather expansive (16gb space free+) sd card to hold the image.
You don't need a fancy camera for facecam, as long as your face is well lit.
