Q: Do you conduct daily uploads yet only receive 20 views or less?

If this sounds similar to your situation, let me tell you a key way to grow your channel. This thread is NOT designed to promote any fake-subscription method such like "Sub4Sub". If you're choosing that method to gain subscribers, stop now before you pile your channel under 100+ people who don't care.

So this is the main question isn't it? "What's the most quick, best, and easy thing to build a YouTube channel and become the next internet sensation?". While this method can produce quick results fast, don't expect to get it right on your first attempt. If you do, then fantastic!

First things first, this thread is not the basics. Invest in quality equipment, make sure the videos on your channel are entertaining, interact on social media, and make sure to brand yourself with decent thumbnails / banner. Second, begin researching about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how it can be utilized.

If you're thinking "Ugh! Not that pointless acronym again! SEO! Whatever!", then snap out of it. This is one of the best methods out there and can help out a small channel tremendously in a short amount of time.

If you channel is filled with (like mine): "Let's Play This Game Ep. 23" -or- "Cod Funny Moments", then you're going to need to learn that these videos aren't going to be your one-all-be-all. Please don't be offended, but they just aren't. Unless you get extremely lucky by a shout out or you catch onto a niche market early on (such as horror game reacting), then your results will fail. You'll end up with 100+ videos with each containing only about 10 views or so. Social Media can also boost the numbers, but you have to work REALLY hard and consume the majority of your time to earn an audience utilizing that method.

So here's the advice I'm offering:
  • Step #1: Think of a Niche
  • Step #2: Make a Video Catered to That Niche
  • Step #3: Give the video: a catchy title, lengthy description, transcriptions, & at least 500 characters worth of tags
I'll use a fictional example to represent my point.

Scenario #1: My name is Jack and I enjoy playing Call of Duty. I also enjoy watching tournaments.
  1. Let me make a video about the top 5 mess-ups by professional teams!
  2. I will clip some recordings of the previous tournaments and include popular names such as Optic & Faze! I'll also include a countdown!
  3. Title: "Top 5 Call of Duty Pro Tournament Fails!"
To conclude scenario 1, you may be able to think of a better title.

Scenario #2: My name is John and I enjoy playing iOS games!
  1. Let me create a video showcasing the top iOS games of 2015!
  2. I will record myself playing the games and narrate over them!
  3. Title: "Top FREE iOS Games 2015!"
I'm sure you get the point now. These types of videos are titled "Gateway Videos". They will bring the audience to your YouTube channel to further watch your other content. Many of the big YouTubers you may watch today may have had a gateway video which propelled them at the beginning to where they are now.

Now, is this a sure way? It can be. If you honestly keep trying to create gateway videos every now and then, then you will probably gain some exposure overtime from those types of videos. Is this the only way for growth? Absolutely not.

All in all, it's not easy to market (my video for example) "Let's Play Lego Star Wars Ep. 24". But it's easier to market something along the lines of "Top 5 Games of 2015".

PS. You do not have to do Top 5 / Top 10 formats. You don't have to do "The best of ____". Just target a niche (cod professional teams, iOS apps, etc.) and give them a good video that's informative.
