So ever since September my channel had really been taking of :) I was on the subtrain and I've passed the 10,000 viewers what is awsome! But the hollidays seem to have great affect on my views and subscribe rates and it has plunged a bit. Did more of you guys experience this and does your viewership turn back to the normal in a week or so? I even lost 2 sub for the first time in months lol got me all worked up :rolleyes:

ps. Happy New Years everyone!

Sorry to hear that, but I've experienced the exact opposite. I think mainly because kids are on break and have more time to watch my content.

I am in the same boat as phil and lightning. Before the holiday my channel was barely growing but now during it I get like 1 sub a day and more random views then ever before.

Once your channel starts growing you also start losing more subs. I usually lose around 10 a week on average :D Don't take it as your channel is bad or anything though.

I've seen an increase in views like the others, but we are all doing gaming type videos. Probably just a dip in activity, keep on posting and I'm sure it will come back up again :)

Well there are a few kinds of YouTube audiences and that being said Your's might be the kind of peoplle pressed for time during this tail end of the year. Having accepted your input in their live, they are practically applying what they know to barely ballance the holidays. They will return, and when your views pick up you can put together a synopsis video of the video's that had lower viewership (call it a year end wrap up), and then you can put in cards that would allow you to connect videos to the edited sample, or playlist to drive people to the contextual point of the the sample.

I had a bit of an odd slow down from October-December in 2014 but 2015 has been the exact opposite and the activity on my channel has boomed a bit. January 2015 saw a spike though after the slow end to 2014 so I am curious to see where January 2016 goes.

Basically my point is that it really just depends on the situation. Some months will perform better or worse in different years.
