As for gaining new viewers i myself am active on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Sharing video's is one part but getting in contact with those who share same interest is what gets the ball rolling. Build up a base on social media and share you content.
Among the Tips/Tricks section are alot of threads wich provide usefull information on how to gain growth. Maybe browse trough there?

Just be yourself, I know you hear this alot but I cant stress any more, People will notice if your trying fake you or copy cat of someone else.
