Little read here for ya'll. Pretty much saying Youtube is only breaking even. This is a year old so things might have changed since then maybe they've made a profit.

I wouldent doubt it with the inferstructure and bandwidth needed to keep the site going. There is sooo much content being uploaded every second of every day... and they have to store it... and provide fast access to a exponentially growing library of videos...

I think what they need is a categorization feature so that people can goto youtube and find what they want to watch without typing...

Thats tough though cause users try to abuse any system they can to get the most views possible... even if it means catagorizing something wrong...

I think they should also implement a better rating system...

I don't think so. otherwise it's already sold to a other company or they don't **** with it anymore.

I can believe it isn't making any more at the moment and google see it as an investment that will pay off in the future. They just need to secure some big deals that can only be watched on Youtube.
