Hey guys, quick discussion. What are your guys view on videos without commentary. Like a lets play. Or a montage. Like i know montages doesn't have commentary, but what about lets play wise, or highlights. What kinda lets plays would you watch without commentary? Would you rather it uncut? Or would you rather it edited down to more interesting parts?

Uncut would typically deter people away more often than not. Showing off the best moments would be fine, granted no commentary videos are a lot harder to get noticed for. They need to stand out somehow ^^
I say definitely add commentary. A few videos without it are fine for montages or whatever but it can be kind of boring watching a video without commentary IMO
I think if I REALLY wanted to watch the game and not have it as background noise (which is what I do for most LPs) I would totally watch it without commentary. I know TetraNinja does some partial commentary, but a lot of it is just true gameplay and I really enjoy his stuff.
Uncut or cut, it depends.Like, if you're in Fallout 4, and you're just wondering around aimlessly, yea, cut it. Otherwise, if you're doing missions after missions, there's no reason to cut!
I do gameplay vids without commentary and yes it has made it slower to get noticed. My random clip videos do much better than my full length game play videos. I will probably start adding VO once I can get a decent Mic.
Not sure if I'd watch a LP without commentary, although I don't really watch LPs. I suppose it might depend on the type of game.... Although I don't do any commentary myself
