EA Will Not Be Attending E3 This Year

Earlier today Fortune and Forbes both reported the Electronic Arts (EA) will not be attending the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year.

EA, the publishing company behind AAA series including Madden NFL, The Sims, Battlefield and their newest entry Star Wars Battlefront, are instead going to hold their own trade show across the street of the Los Angles Convention Center. This event will be titled EA Play.

When asked about not attending the trade conference, Sandy Goldberg, a spokesperson for EA, said," We're taking our commitment to putting players first really seriously at EA and we felt this was our year to do something different."

E3, an event open to media in order to promote the latest and greatest in electronic entertainment, has been taking some serious hits these past few years ever since Nintendo stopped attending the trade show in 2012.

EA will still hold private buisness meetings at E3

I kind of doubt that we will see it this year. Viscereal is working on an untitled Star Wars project.

The only ea games that i'm waiting for are mirror's edge(That already has a release date), mass efect andromeda and a possible Dead Space 4(If they don't screw it up like dead space 3) so i sincerely couldn't care less about them not attending E3

There going to be right across the street doing their own conference that is open to the public. I think it is a step in the right direction.

I think it is good that they are doing it because as of right now it is not an invite only eventhe for media. It is going to allow the public before the games release, which is great for feedback.
