Hello all!

So a few weeks ago one of my external hard drives corrupted, I was able to recover a lot of the videos I had on it but unfortunately I lost some too.
I have two questions. Is there a way to wipe the hard drive and make it usable again? What kind of things should I be doing to keep my PC and hard drives in good condition and healthy?

Hi,
There are applications out there that let you recover everything. Once you've got everything you need you should just beable to plug it in, format the drive and your ready to go. If your on Mac use disk utility and reparation it to 1 partion that occupies the whole disk space. OR RUN FIRST AID ON IT (reccomended)

If your on Windows simply right click it and there should be an option to format it.

If formatting doesn't work contact support for the makers of the drive.

That actually worked! Thank you!

To make sure they stay in good condition, always use the eject button. Make sure to never go over the disk space, id recommend keeping 100-500MB free as if you go over it cant be read. Four your videos also use an online backup like google drive or onedrive or dropbox just make new accounts if you run out of room or you can start a second youtube channel to keep everything on. with the release of upload.tm soon you can easily copy videos to another channel. :)
