Adobe Premiere Pro is definitely a popular choice in the industry but there isn't really a "best" software in my opinion.
Video editing is done best in an environment that you can work well in. Obviously you want a good software as solutions such as Microsoft's Movie Maker will limit some of the things that you can do, but once you're spending money then for the most part you won't be missing out on many tools and when you're at that point then it mostly comes down to preference.
So if you've had good practice with Premiere, then you may want to stick with Adobe's software. Adobe has a really nice ecosystem as well (integration with Photoshop, After Effects, etc.!) Unless you have a reason to switch over such as your operating system doesn't support the software, it crashes too often, or it doesn't offer an efficient workflow for you then you're better off working in a familiar environment than having to learn a new software altogether.
I hope my opinion has helped you realize your preferred editing software.
