Best RPG elements

Hey all. So we all know general RPG elements. What do you find really makes an RPG game for you? For me, it has to be the option to make a character what you want. For example, I really like being able to have characters that can be developed into a mage or a warrior. Stuff like that.

I like the exploration... I find that most exciting... RPGs that follow a determined path better have a good story to back it up...

Memorable Story, Memorable characters and decent game play. I do not mind if the game is like Rock, Paper and Scissor type of game play. As long as its good..I will play it.

The variety in skilla trees, the way you can develop you character like you mentioned to be a archer or mage but also to mix those things if possible.

There are a lot of things really but it always comes back to the story. If the gameplay is solid I'll probably love it
