I was looking through my analytics (the setup changed, by the way) and I got to wondering... "what is a good audience retention rate". I would assume 40%+ for a gaming channel with an emphasis on comedy.

What are your thoughts on what the average should be?

Here is a strawpoll for what your real one is, completely anonymous so you don't have to be embarrassed to share. I'm hoping to generate a demographic that will show what the average is in the network. From there we can state it, work towards it, and hopefully surpass.

Mine is 40% for the last month and 42% for overall. Although my videos are very short so that probably helps. I think over 20% is fine, it also depends a lot on the type of content you do and where your videos are watched.
Length of the video is definitely a heavy contributing factor. I'm actually waiting on the wire for when the analytics come in for my most recent video. Which is 45 minutes long.
Imagine the watch time for 40% on that. That'd amazing.[DOUBLEPOST=1451516985][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you don't mind me asking, what was the audience retention for your Redstone Computer video that went 400k+ earlier this year?

Funnily enough its at exactly 40% also. Although the first month it was out it was a 42%, I would have thought it would have been less than all my other videos...

Good poll, I voted.

I think 40% is reasonable, but it would certainly vary depending on your average video length I would think. For someone who does 2-3 min videos I'd expect around 60%, but for let's players that do 30+min gameplays, 30% is pretty acceptable.
