Youtube has been a long hard road for me. With 100 subs I still feel like giving up due to the fact I'm lucky to get five views on the videos I put time into making. I have moved on to streaming and love it cause I can interact with my viewers on the spot, but youtube keeps calling me back. When I went back to working on videos I ran into the same block in my mind, why keep going if no one is watching... At that point I was ready to give up. Than a week ago I came up with an idea, on weekdays I would stream and use weekends to record and make youtube videos with the idea that if I get enough videos put together I can start releasing videos on weekdays aswell as weekends.

But anyway I just wanted to know if anyone els feels like me, feels like giving up cause you just don't get viewers.

p.s. I have 270 videos and and still continue to push myself.

If one is in YouTube for the recognition, then that is a heavy catalyst in the feeling of wanting to quit. But it's also one of many reasons you shouldn't be doing YouTube for.

YouTube is a medium for people to express creative interests, a hobby. It becomes a career once on starts to get noticed for what his creative interests are, but one is not to join YouTube for this endgame. One is to join YouTube for the hobby part, anything else is just a bonus.

Hi, Believe it or not but I have been making videos on Youtube for years, I uploaded my first official vlog about a month or two before YouTube opened its partner program to everyone (The channel I run now is my 3rd, I deleted the other two (Long story).
Thing is, even though I have been vlogging for so long, I have Never gotten more than 140 subscribers on any of my channels and although it bothers me sometimes, I keep reminding myself that I am not doing it for the subscribers. I am doing it for the fame and fortune at the end.. No just joking, I love the process of vlogging, turning your thoughts into spoken words and uploading them to YouTube. I would love to be one of those 100,000 YouTubers but if it doesn't happen, that's ok.

As Nolan said, if your only doing this for the recognition, you're in it for the wrong reasons and the people who come to see your videos will see this. Do it because you love it, because you cant imagine your life not stood in front of a camera.

I think what I said may of come across wrong, I have started twitch cause I like to interact with my viewers but as for youtube I do love making videos but the problem I have ran into the subs I do have just does not seem to not really care lol. It makes it feel like your doing something wrong.. Aslo if I was doing it for the fame or money I would of quit a long time ago and never came back XD 270 videos and counting.

You mentioned that you have 100 subs. So you already have a small following. Have you tried reaching out to them and asking them what they wanna watch? If not, I suggest you try it.
There are many reasons why your videos are not getting views. Some of those many reasons:
- The videos might be needlessly long. Needs better editing.
- The topic might not be very interesting.
- You might not be promoting the content enough. Try sharing on Twitter (using the appropriate hashtags) and Facebook (your wall and groups that support your kinda content).
- Bad Audio/Video quality.

Try reaching out to your viewers to better understand what they want, and then provide them with that content.

Hope this helps.
Peace.

I used to get low views for my animation and animation takes hours of patience to be created. However, things get better as I continue creating them. My views started to raise after some time. (But my subs count didn't grow fast, 60 subs in 1++ year lol) All I can say is don't give up and keep improve your content!

Keep uploading and be active on forums and you will grow for sure. When I uploaded my first couple videos I got 0 views on them until I started joining the Freedom Forums and YTTalk and from 0 subs I have 60 now in just a month

Please don't give up on Youtube this is a topic that I am very strict about on my channel I try to help people through things such as quitting by showing them tutorials of how they can grow their own YouTube channel. Also I do commentaries explaining different things in and around YouTube which helps a lot of my subscribers and could definitely help you to dude what ever you do please don't give up I have seen to many people do this and they have really regretted it. Why quit if you have already started hey !!!!

Woah! You know Nolan every time I read one of your posts I feel as if you're an angry parent looking down at a child telling them these things. I see you have contributed tons of posts and frankly I'm afraid to think of what types of things you've been telling people. I only just met you a few days ago but it seems like everywhere you go, you're telling someone how they should and should not think as if you're the almighty God Himself! No offense, I'm not trying to start problems with anyone but I can't stand it when someone goes around throwing their weight around like this. It's not right or fair to others. I know I've told you things like this before and you said some people are more blunt than others and I agreed with you but that doesn't mean that's the best way to go about talking to people. Try to put a little more sugar into your tone :) It would help a lot if you stated things like "I believe" or "I think" or "in my opinion" because I can tell you're a smart guy but like I told you before you come across as very dogmatic maybe not to everyone but I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.

It is a simple knowledge on YouTube that those in it for the money are not likely to get the success they aspire to obtain. You could ask a plethora of other YouTubers and they will tell you the same thing.

Sugar is an interesting thing to add. Too much and people won't take you seriously, too much and people will think you're some kind of twit.
I understand about adding it, but it tends to be more effective to drill it home rather than make a pit stop.

Final verdict - I'll try to be softer on the tone and include the "I believe", but I will still drive the same basic ideals.

There you go, that's great. You were willing to open up and give something a chance. I really do think you're a smart guy, trust me I can tell a smart guy when I see one. I just think you could use a little more tact sometimes. This is just my personal opinion but thanks for giving the idea a chance. I just think that you actually make some really good points but if you weren't nearly as hard about them maybe people would listen more often instead of maybe getting scared away. Well good luck to you. I'm sure we'll cross paths again on these forums.

Sorry I'm not on here to reply alot.. full time job is fun XD. But I have always wanted to be a type of entertainer from a young age and as I said if I was doing it for money and fame I would of quit. There is one thing tho alot of people seem to forget is a end goal. I for one like to set a end goal and if I am not achieving the steps to reach my goal I feel it and would like to know what I am doing wrong. I know I am not the only one like this lol.
