roxio if you wanna save some of your money
I have used a Roxio before, the whole HDCP protection made things more complicated than it should've been.
I had to buy HD component cables to run to the Roxio which boosted the price up into the Elgato cost range.
Elgato does it and does it simply without fear of that whack content protection that HDMI boasts into the PS3.

I tried opening my laptop yesterday, its a bit stubborn and didnt cooperate with me, so i could'nt get my laptop running right..

The unit is an Acer laptop which has a 1.8gb ram.. Thats all i remember..
I've owned an Acer laptop one time and never purchased another one. It was pretty terrible for what it was I would go with Asus if I did play on one. They have pretty good laptops very strong and comes with good specs meant for gaming and recording etc!

i think you need a little bit more RAM, just look on the Elgato website for the specifications, me myself i have 16GB of ram (macbook 15inch) with an 2,8GHz intel core i7 (for school and editing projects) im saving up to build my own pc
Second this your ram is low I think you need about 4gb of ram to run most capture cards I had to build my own computer since I am using mine for game design and youtube

I'd recommend the Elgato HD. It's a bit pricy, but its simple and easy to use, and you can record pretty much any console with it, old or new. Only downside is that it can't record 1080P at 60FPS, but that's neither here nor there IMO.

Good choice but check out his computer specs not so hot. That's the only issue

I had one of those, it didn't work. like if I tried to record for 30 min or more, the thing would crash every single time.[DOUBLEPOST=1449173852][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks for the helpful tip my friendo :D .. Wait, The mini SD card? Or the fat version of the SD card one?

1 question my friendo, how about taking footage for 10-20 minutes (or less?)

Also, yeah LightInADarkRoom has a point, my laptop specs is not high enough for elgato.. If i get an even better PC/Gaming laptop i might get one, in a flash..

Well then, that settles it :D i might get one on my salary day :D i hope the amazon japan isnt harsh on me xD

That might work, king wolf.. 1 question, can it support my laptop even if its has a weak specs?

the low ram on your laptop is going to delay and possibly freeze/crash your el gato software. i learned this the hard way trying to make a 2gb ram laptop work. if at all possible get a refurbished 8gb desktop from the walmart website for less than $200 and you will have no problem capturing with elgato and using vegas. heres a link to the deals on refurbed desktops. ive personally never had problems with refurbs from walmart
