usually doing a giveaway gives you a few more subs and viewers but you have to give something that they'll want. Want people want is costly, so I wouldn't recommend it but do whatever you want to do. Unless you plan to give away some small bags of chips then that's perfectly fine.

I'm doing a giveaway on my YouTube channel and all you have to do is comment a funny joke on that video to be entered. I suggest listening to the video clearly so you won't get confused, because I am doing it a little different than other giveaways.

Think of a creative way to entertain viewers. You do role play, or personal fun challenges within the game. Just make videos that's different than all the other YouTubers out there. As far as the number of tags, I feel that 500 is enough for me.
